We unfortunately had to miss Belgian Death Metal band Carnation who opened the show but arrived just in time to witness Warbringer tear into their set as the second band on the four-act bill , delivering an impressive dose of epic, unrelenting thrash metal. Drawing from the legacy of Testament or early Anthrax, they unleashed a flurry of savage riffs, pounding rhythms, and vocals that were aggressive but still sounded human. Their songs twisted through almost progressive structures at times, but never lost sight of their mission: to beat you up and down. They’re not reinventing the wheel but they’re keeping it spinning at full speed and mowing down everything in their path. A vicious, high-octane assault that set the bar for the night.
