Cryptopsy @ La Machine du Moulin-Rouge, Paris - June 1st, 2025

Total annihilation at La Machine as Cryptopsy tore through Paris like a goddamn buzzsaw! Despite the absence of bassist Oli Pinard due to health reasons, the band delivered a masterclass in brutality—tight, relentless, and technically monstrous. Stepping in on bass, Rémi LeGresley held down the low end with surgical precision, seamlessly locking in with the rest of the band. The rest of the line-up has held solid for over a decade. Frontman Matt McGachy is an absolute beast: his bone-shaking grunts, guttural growls, and unholy shrieks tore through the crowd like a sonic meat grinder, commanding the stage with the fury of a thousand damned souls. Guitarist Christian Donaldson unleashed a barrage of crushing, serpentine riffs and unholy solos, as savage as they were precise. Flo Mounier, the thunderous heart of the band and proud Frenchman, punished his kit with inhuman precision, reminding everyone why he’s one of death metal’s elite. The setlist was a blood-soaked trip through their entire discography, capped with a monstrous new track from their upcoming album An Insatiable Violence (out June 20). The pit was chaos, the sound was crushing, and the vibe was pure, unfiltered METAL.
