After punishing sets from Warbringer and Cryptopsy (sadly, we missed opener Carnation), Decapitated took the stage to close the night with a masterclass in controlled aggression. In a long and storied career marked by both triumph and tragedy, lead guitarist Wacław "Vogg" Kiełtyka remains the sole original member—but the monster he's created still causes terror and devastation. Blending elements of thrash, groove, and sheer death metal brutality, Decapitated have never strayed from their mission: to deliver a severe blow to the listener’s skull. Their latest album, Cancer Culture (2022), proves that point in the studio—and onstage, it’s even more lethal. New vocalist Eemeli Bodde is an expert growler with stage presence to match, firing up the crowd with commanding energy. This was highly technical death metal at its finest—precise, punishing, and utterly unforgiving.
