Whitechapel are fast cementing their status as one of the most prominent metal acts of their generation, and nights like this make it easy to understand why. Their commitment to extremity in all its forms is absolute, and the sheer intensity of their performance is impossible to ignore. Badass blast beats, vast atmospheric riffs and demonic vocals collided with bone shattering breakdowns, moments where the bass dropped so low it felt like a physical blow to the stomach. There was nothing tentative or transitional about this set. This was a band operating at full power, fully aware of its position and fully prepared to claim it. The future of metal is not coming, it is already here.
