Second on the bill was guitarist Mathias Lattin, whose blues come laced with elegant soul, funk, jazz and even a hint of reggae. France has long been generous to blues guitarists, and this was no exception. The audience recognized Lattin as one of the musicians who take the purest form of the blues and pull it into the present without losing its weight.
By the time he finished, it was clear the future of the music is safe in his hands.
