Like Fox Lake before them, Ocean Grove draw heavily from the late 1990s and early 2000s playbook, with obvious nods to Linkin Park and that era’s pop punk and nu metal hybrid. Their forty minute set was groove heavy, energetic and immediately accessible. If Fox Lake had ignited the pit, Ocean Grove kept it burning, channeling the crowd’s momentum into a more emotional and dynamic performance. It was a natural escalation, and a perfect bridge between the opening chaos and the theatrical spectacle that would follow.
