Rodney Crowell in Paris next year

Rodney Crowell has spent more than four decades shaping American roots music as both a performer and a songwriter. Emerging from the Texas songwriting scene before establishing himself in Nashville, he became known for a style that blends country, folk and rock with a strong literary streak. His songs have been recorded by a wide range of artists including Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Bob Seger, Etta James and the Grateful Dead, while his long collaboration with Emmylou Harris helped define a generation of country and Americana recordings. 

In recent years Crowell has remained highly active, continuing a late career creative run that began with The Houston Kid in 2001. His most recent studio album, Airline Highway, released in 2025, marks his twentieth record and features appearances by Lukas Nelson and members of Larkin Poe and Blackberry Smoke.

Crowell will be at Café de la Danse on Thursday, April 30, 2026.
