Elliott Murphy celebrates his birthday with two nights at New Morning next year

Like most years, Paris based American singer songwriter Elliott Murphy will mark his birthday on stage with two special nights at the New Morning on the 13th and 14th of March, 2026. The club itself reaches a milestone, celebrating 45 years of live music, with a history rooted in jazz but equally open to soul, hip hop, rock, pop, folk, punk, metal and world music. It remains one of the capital’s most respected rooms for artists who value proximity and musicianship over spectacle.

Murphy, born in New York in 1949 and adopted by Paris decades ago, has built a career defined by constant touring and a fiercely independent spirit. His latest release is this year's excellent Infinity.

For these birthday shows he will be joined by his long time guitarist Olivier Durand, as well as the full Murphyland Band featuring Alan Fatras on drums, Gaspard Murphy on electric guitar and Melissa Cox on violin. The expanded lineup makes these evenings distinct from his more common stripped back formats, offering a broader sonic palette while keeping the focus on songwriting and performance.
