Finn Forster opened for Stereophonics at Le Zénith in Paris on April 29, making the most of what was clearly a major opportunity for this young English singer-songwriter. Working in a melodic pop/folk style that at times echoed the sound of early Lloyd Cole and the Commotions — musically, if not lyrically — Forster delivered a short but well-crafted set that showed real promise. His upcoming EP, Embers, due out in May, includes recent singles like “Long Nights” and “Feels Like,” and should offer a fuller picture of where he’s headed. Hopefully, a return to Paris for a headlining set...
