Blues rock and American roots music have outlasted trends for a reason. Styles evolve, production changes, but the core remains the same, a biting electric guitar, a solid rhythm section, a Hammond organ adding weight and color. It is a language that keeps being picked up and played, generation after generation.
That language is not limited by geography. Earth Motion are a young French band, barely a year into their existence, yet they already sound at ease within it. Their take on Southern-leaning hard blues rock sits somewhere between the early The Doobie Brothers and the heavier pull of Gov't Mule, without feeling forced or overly referential. The playing is tight, the tone is right, and the intent is clear. As an opener for Robert Jon & The Wreck, they make perfect sense. Solid, convincing stuff.
