Hana Lili played her first ever Paris show, opening for Mouth Culture inside Le Hasard Ludique, a former train station turned performance hall. A noticeable portion of the compact crowd already seemed familiar with her material, but even those discovering her for the first time did not need much encouragement to start moving. Her songs are melodic and punchy, built for both dancing and the occasional shove in the pit, and they connected quickly.
The set featured several tracks from her upcoming EP Hana, due out April 17, alongside earlier releases that have already begun carving out her identity. She looked entirely at ease on stage, shifting effortlessly between a delicate, melodic lilt and full throttle punk fury. It is an appealing contrast, sweetness and abrasion coexisting in the same breath. This is a talent worth keeping on your radar.
