The Chicago Blues Festival Tour is an institution for blues lovers everywhere. Created in 1969, it has featured a long roster of legends over the decades, including John Lee Hooker and Lowell Fulson.
This year’s edition, the fifty fifth in the series, will be headlined by Tampa based guitarist and singer Selwyn Birchwood, whose most recent album Old School arrived in 2024. If it seems unusual that the Chicago Blues Festival is led by a Floridian, do not overthink it. The music is what matters, and Birchwood brings fire, conviction and deep respect for the tradition.
Also appearing on the tour is Carly Harvey, a soul singer from the Washington D C area, whose 2024 release Kamama has been praised for its warmth, honesty and striking vocal presence.
The Chicago Blues Festival Tour will travel across France from November 7 to December 13 and will stop at the legendary New Morning club in Paris on December 2.
