Snow Patrol opened their new tour at a sold-out Olympia, kicking off the cycle for The Forest Is The Path with a set that leaned heavily on Eyes Open (2006). The new songs stood strong, but it was the familiar anthems that sent the crowd into a frenzy. This was a band in full control, delivering a show that balanced intimacy and spectacle, nostalgia and momentum.
The production was stunning, peaking during "The Lightning Strike," where the band played engulfed in a swirling storm of leaves and light. The visuals were striking, but they never overshadowed the music. Every song hit with clarity and force, each chorus built to be sung at full volume. The band has always walked the line between stadium rock and personal confession, and unsurprisingly, they nailed both in a set was packed with anthemic choruses, melodies built to soar, and rhythms that made it impossible to stand still, somewhere between U2’s grandeur and Foo Fighters’ muscular tenderness.
Gary Lightbody was the center of it all, his warm and genuine self, connecting with the audience, bantering between songs, and even making a fan's dream come true by pulling them onstage to play guitar during "Run." An enchanting, unforgettable night of intelligent, powerful and cathartic pop rock played by a band that knows how to make every moment count.
