Australia's Public House delivered an opening set that was as abrasive as it was cathartic. Imagine a collision between The Hives and The Fall and you'll be somewhere in the right ballpark, although the band really needs to be experienced in the flesh to make complete sense. Their debut album, Future, was released only last month and is well worth seeking out. They clearly have The Datsuns' seal of approval too, as guitarist Phil Sommervell joined them for a few songs, adding another layer of controlled chaos to an already ferocious performance. Cracking stuff.
