Las Robertas @ Petit Bain, Paris - July 28th, 2026

Costa Rican five-piece Las Robertas draw heavily from the English rave-rock and shoegaze of the early nineties. Their cover of The Charlatans’ “The Only One I Know” makes the connection explicit, but there are also traces of Ride and Primal Scream in the chiming guitars, loose rhythms and hazy psychedelic textures. The music is highly danceable and often deeply trippy, but the songs are built around large, immediate pop melodies.

Mercedes Oller’s sugary vocals float above the mix while bassist Felipe Oller and drummer Fabrizio Durán keep the grooves firm and elastic. Russell Davis supplies the chiming riffs and melodic solos, with Daniela García adding synths, samples and small electronic details around the edges. It is bright, strange and instantly accessible, and the band plays it all with the required aplomb. An excellent set.
