Ash's set was a tough one to follow but The Subways was certainly up to the task. The British trio played a few songs off of their excellent new album Uncertain Joys, but the bulk of the set was comprised of songs from their classic debut Young For Eternity.
Their frantic, punk-infused sound brought down the house (well, the boat) from the very first notes of opener "We Don't Need Money To Have A Good Time", which is not just a banging anthem but also one hell of a declaration of intent. Quite a few tracks from "All Or Nothing", which, in is this reviewer's opinion, is their finest LP, and an onstage collaboration with tour mates Ash made this an unmissable evening for fans of British Alternative Rock.
