Garbage and Skunk Anansie in Paris in May

Two key names from the 1990s alternative rock landscape, Garbage and Skunk Anansie, will share the bill in Paris this spring with a joint appearance at Le Zénith.

Garbage formed in 1994 around producers Butch Vig, Steve Marker and Duke Erikson, with Shirley Manson on vocals. The band built its reputation on a hybrid of guitar driven rock, electronic textures and sharply focused songwriting. Their catalog spans more than three decades, from their self titled debut through to their latest album Let All That We Imagine Be the Light, which continues their long standing collaboration between studio craft and direct song structures.

Skunk Anansie emerged from the UK scene in the same period, led by vocalist Skin alongside guitarist Ace, bassist Cass and drummer Mark Richardson. Their early albums Paranoid & Sunburnt and Stoosh established a sound combining heavy riffs, melodic hooks and socially charged lyrics. The band’s most recent release, The Painful Truth, arrived in 2025 and marked their first studio album in several years.

Garbage and Skunk Anansie will perform at Le Zénith in Paris on May 25, bringing together two bands whose careers developed in parallel during the alternative rock era.
