In the three decades since the break-up of influential Palm Desert scene stoner rockers Kyuss, its former members have all splintered into different projects, with varying degrees of commercial success. Josh Homme of course is the creative force behind Queens of the Stone Age and Eagles of Death Metal, having collaborated with everyone from Dave Grohl to Iggy Pop. Drummer Brant Bjork has played with Fu Manchu, Stöner, the Low Desert Punk Band or his own Brant Bjork Trio. Nick Oliveri has kept himself busy with Mondo Generator or his solo projects. And singer John Garcia has fronted bands like Unida, Slo Burn, Vista Chino and Hermano, which started as a side project and has released only 4 albums over the course of a quarter century.
Now, Garcia is taking Hermano back on the road to play some of the tunes that have become legendary among stoner rock fans, including some by his legendary former band. Their upcoming release is Clisson, France, a live recording of their set at last year's Hellfest due for release in February.
They will be at La Maroquinerie in Paris on May 7th courtesy of our pals at Garmonbozia, with support from stoner rock veterans Solace.
