American composer and guitarist Richard Houghten has announced a new series of live dates, with Paris included on the upcoming run.
A composer, producer, multi instrumentalist and record cutter, Houghten’s work sits between electronic composition and live performance. His music favors slow development and texture over immediacy, drawing from ambient, instrumental hip hop, jazz inflection and rhythmic minimalism. Rather than foregrounding melody, his pieces unfold through repetition, subtle variation and spatial detail. His most recent album Gatherings continues this trajectory, expanding his palette while maintaining a restrained, process driven approach.
Richard Houghten will play Supersonic Records on January 28, 2026.
