Sigh... Zak is out of The Who... again. UPDATED WITH ZAK'S SIDE OF THE STORY

Just when you think the circus has packed up and left town…

Confusion, denial, gaslighting — pick your poison. The drama machine is still whirring at full speed. Scott Devours must be thrilled. Hell, maybe they even got a discount.

After unceremoniously booting Zak Starkey — yes, that Zak, son of Ringo Starr and longtime drummer for the band — The Who promptly tried to sweep the mess under the rug once fans erupted in outrage. Cue the backpedaling, the half-apologies, the damage control.

But surprise! The peace was short-lived. Now it looks like Zak’s out again… for real this time?

Check out Pete Townshend’s cryptically dramatic Instagram post below, and draw your own conclusions. The guitarist turns 80 tomorrow but evidently still has some growing up to do...

This news comes as the band has announced their farewell tour... 43 years after their first one.

UPDATE! Zak weighs in
