Skunk Anansie's new single, "An Artist is an Artist," trades their signature Hard Rock/Groove Metal fusion for a striking New Wave direction. Brimming with angular electronics that echo Sigue Sigue Sputnik, the track channels the raw energy of The Fall and the gritty pub rock edge of Dr. Feelgood. Skin’s unmistakable vocals, equal parts feral and ethereal, evoke shades of Siouxsie Sioux and the post-punk bite of John Lydon’s early P.I.L. work. Though the vibe is markedly different, the defiance and anger that define the band remain razor-sharp. It’s an excellent return to form, eight long years since their last album, 2016's Anarchytecture.
Skunk Anansie will start their European tour in February 28th, with a stop at the Paris Olympia on March 26. Click HERE for all tour dates.
