For fans of classic progressive rock, the announcement that Rush will play Paris La Défense Arena on February 19, 2027 is a landmark moment. Formed in Toronto in 1968, Rush built a reputation over five decades for intricate musicianship, bold time signatures and literate lyrics driven by bassist/lead vocalist Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson, and drummer/lyricist Neil Peart. Across a catalogue that includes 2112, Moving Pictures, Permanent Waves and many more, the trio became one of the most respected and influential acts in rock history, known for virtuosity and thematic ambition. Their 2026-27 “Fifty Something” tour marks their first extended live run in more than a decade, following a long hiatus and renewed creative energy as they carry forward the Rush legacy after Peart’s death in 2020.
This Paris date is significant not just because it brings Rush back to France, but because the band has not performed in Paris since their show at Le Zénith 1992! The 2027 performance continues Rush’s Fifty Something Tour, which reunites Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson onstage for the first sustained run of concerts since their 2015 R40 Live Tour and honours the memory and influence of Neil Peart while introducing acclaimed drummer Anika Nilles to the live setup.
