The Damned to smash it up in Paris in February!

The Damned are rightly celebrated as part of the original wave of United Kingdom punk rock. They were the first band from that scene to release a single, "New Rose," the first to release an album, Damned Damned Damned, and the first to tour the United States.

Of course, none of that would matter if the music did not still hit like a freight train. With an arsenal of classic records including Damned Damned DamnedThe Black AlbumMachine Gun Etiquette, or more recently Darkadelic, The Damned helped define the sound and attitude of punk while planting the seeds for both gothic rock and new wave.

Now, Dave Vanian on vocals, Captain Sensible on guitar, Rat Scabies on drums, Paul Gray on bass, and Monty Oxymoron on keys are returning to Paris just a little over a year after their triumphant show at Élysée Montmartre. This time they will take over the Bataclan on February 1, 2026 for a set comprised exclusively of covers! How they will get away with not playing at least some of their classic tunes is anyone's guess...

Their upcoming album Not Like Everybody Else, a collection of covers dedicated to their late founding guitarist Brian James, is scheduled for release on January 23rd, 2026.
