Dave Mustaine shocked the metal world when he announced last summer that Megadeth's upcoming self-titles album, due out next year, would be the band's swan song, and that the accompanying world tour would be the last chance for the head banging audiences to see the thrash metal pioneers in concert.
Retirement announcements in the rock world are usually best taken with a grain of salt... But if this is the end for Megadeth, then we are about to bid farewell to one of the greatest heavy metal bands of all time, and one of the originators and most influential acts of the trash metal genre.
