Before Neal Morse and The Resonance took the stage at Le Trianon in Paris on June 7th, The Flower Kings delivered an exquisite set of classic prog rock, centered around their excellent new album LOVE, released just last month. Roine Stolt remains a remarkably tasteful guitarist, with phrasing that often evokes the elegance of David Gilmour. But perhaps the most striking element of the performance was the band’s splendid vocal harmonies—layered, rich, and flawlessly executed. The Swedish prog veterans proved to be a perfect match for what was to follow.
