Joe Satriani and Steve Vai announce SatchVai Band line-up

SatchVai Band, the brainchild of guitar virtuosos Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, have unveiled their powerhouse backing band for the Surfing with the Hydra Tour—and wow, the talent here is unreal. On drums, the ever-dependable Kenny Aronoff, whose résumé includes stints with John Mellencamp, Smashing Pumpkins, Elton John, and Chickenfoot. On bass is hard rock veteran Marco Mendoza, known for his work with the Dead Daisies, Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy, Neal Schon, and Journey. And because if there’s one thing this band clearly needs, it’s more guitar, they’ve brought in Pete Thorn, who’s shared the stage with Chris Cornell, Don Henley, Melissa Etheridge, Alicia Keys, and Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi.
