Hailing from L.A. and active since 2013, Frankie and the Witch Fingers detonated a sonic bomb inside the Trabendo and assaulted the audience with their psych/punk deflagrations and shambolic sound. But underneath the fuzz, the songs are tight and well-constructed... they just happen to be designed to bash your skull in. That, in case you were wondering, is a good thing. Most of the evening's repertoire was culled from their latest noisy manfesto, the aptly named Trash Classic.
Crowd response was immediate and reciprocal: for every shard of intensity, the audience escalated it ten fold and soon it was just a sea of limbs and hair, with crowd surfers knocking into each other like living wreckage. A glorious ruckus that ended in a an avalanche of feedback on stage and sore muscles in the pit. Rock n' roll.
