Ronboy, the stage name of Los Angeles songwriter Julia Laws, opened the evening with a set that balanced noisy textures and melodic immediacy. Her songs leaned into shoegaze atmospherics while still keeping a pop sensibility, moving easily between haze and clarity. Backed by the same musicians who would later play with Matt Berninger, the performance was jagged and luminous, at times deliberately off-kilter yet delivered with conviction. The high point, inevitably, arrived when Berninger joined her on stage for their recent single "Disaster," a tense and hypnotic duet that sharpened the edges of her set and drew the crowd in with its restless pulse.
