Friday's Playlist: Feuds & Diss Tracks: Bandmates at War

This Friday’s playlist, dives into the messy art of turning old friends into lyrical targets. Some cuts are legendary, with John Lennon and Paul McCartney trading blows and Fleetwood Mac’s lovers’ quarrels preserved forever in song, while others are subtler digs hidden in melody. Where we could, we paired the attack with the response so you can hear both sides of the fallout. We could have gone full hip hop, a genre that practically invented the diss track, but we kept it light and skipped the Drake versus Kendrick saga (team Kendrick all the way though.) From the bitter bile of Guns N’ Roses’ “Sorry” to the icy sting of John Lennon’s “How Do You Sleep,” these tracks show what happens when the studio becomes a battlefield.
