Interesting piece of info that Pierre Lescure just let slip this evening... Before launching his piece on Sparks' new album and their Paris concert tomorrow night, the revered French journalist and businessman let that nugget slip out: Louis Bertignac, erstwhile guitarist of the most famous French rock band Téléphone, will be joining The Who on stage for their June 23rd concert at La Défense Arena in Nanterre.
This is the first that I'm hearing of it, but I haven't been paying much attention to all of that lately. If Lescure says it's happening, you can take it to the bank. Bertignac's drummer on his latest album in none other than Zak Starkey who has been The Who's official unofficial drummer for nearly two decades, so there is a connection there.
Check out the piece in the embedded YouTube video below and let us know what you think. Just a warning: it's obviously in French.
If true, it's an interesting proposition... What song would he be guesting on? I could see him doing Won't Get Fooled Again or Baba O'Riley... Let us know in the comments or on our socials.
UPDATE: Well, that didn't end up happening... What happened is anyone's guess.
