The Bros. Landreth @ La Maroquinerie, Paris - February 13th, 2026

Joey and David Landreth, better known as The Bros. Landreth, finally made their French debut by opening the European leg of their Tumbling Wild tour at La Maroquinerie, and the wait proved more than worthwhile. In support of their excellent new album Dog Ear, the Winnipeg brothers appeared as a stripped down trio, yet managed to fill the room with ease. From the first notes, the crowd was pulled in, dancing, singing along and leaning into the warmth of the performance and the grooves sculpted by the siblings and drummer Roman Clarke.

Joey Landreth’s guitar work is a show in itself. His fingerpicking and roborative slide playing carry clear echoes of Ry Cooder, and when the band leans into its funkier side, the spirit of Little Feat hovers close by. But technique never overshadows feel. Everything serves the song, and the groove remains loose, human and deeply inviting.

The real magic, though, lies in the bond between the brothers themselves. Joey on guitar and David on bass are both strong vocalists, and their voices intertwine in rich, natural harmonies that feel instinctive. The encore, "I Can’t Win," played with quasi gospel fervor, pushed that chemistry even further, Joey’s falsetto soaring to near Curtis Mayfield territory. The sense of togetherness only deepened when they invited their friend and opening act Begonia to join them on several songs, reinforcing the feeling of camaraderie and familial bond shared joy that defined the night.

Rootsy, folksy and soulful, yet capable of rocking far harder than the setup might suggest, The Bros. Landreth delivered a performance that felt generous and unforced. This was music played with heart, craft and connection, and a first French show that already felt like a homecoming.
