In a ten-year career, this is Atlanta's The Funeral Portrait's first visit to Paris and they pulled all the stops opening for The Rasmus at La Cigale. Ringleader Lee Jennings guided the audience through a short overview of the band's catalogue where the melodic flair of 90's-era pop/punk meets the musical ferocity of alternative metal. The room had filled up quite nicely by the time they hit the stage and quite a sizable portion of the audience seemed familiar with the band, and each song was met with a roar of approval and some heartfelt head banging which forebodes great things for when the southerners inevitably return as headliners, hopefully sooner rather than later.
