Finnish band Block of Flats had the arduous task of opening the evening before support act The Funeral Portrait and headliners The Rasmus. Their set began early, so they played to a half empty room, yet the fans who had already arrived made their enthusiasm clear. The band’s sound blends a solid dose of alternative and emo with touches of pop punk and a hint of nu metal, all carried by enough hooks to hang an entire wardrobe. It fit the bill perfectly and set the night in motion with more force than the attendance might have suggested.
