Last night at La Maroquinerie in Paris, a young singer named Mereki opened for Dhani Harrison, and her set was an excellent discovery. With a captivating stage presence, she performed songs primarily from her upcoming record, and while the material was new to most of the crowd, it instantly resonated.
Mereki’s sound is a broody, contemplative blend of pop with hints of brightness, creating a perfect balance between moody introspection and uplifting moments. The performance had everyone hooked, especially during the more danceable tracks that got the audience moving. Mereki's emotive vocals and ethereal melodies left a lasting impression, setting the stage beautifully for Harrison's set. A fresh and exciting artist to keep an eye on!
