Excellent thirty-minute set by Shalakko, the stage name of a young Franco-Polish singer-songwriter who performs introspective pop songs armed with little more than a guitar and a few loop pedals. Her elfin voice occasionally recalls Joni Mitchell, but her compositions do not feel derivative of anyone in particular. At once dark and sweet, her music earned every cheer it received from The Sophs audience gathered inside La Maroquinerie.
