Monolord and Dopelord Double Down on the Doom in Paris

Swedish doom trio Monolord and Poland's Dopelord join forces at La Maroquinerie on October 10, pairing two bands that have spent the past decade or more exploring the heavier, fuzzier end of doom and stoner metal.
Formed in Gothenburg in 2013, Monolord established themselves with the enormous riffs and hypnotic repetition of Empress Rising, Vænir, Rust and No Comfort, building a following through extensive touring and appearances at Hellfest, Roadburn, Desertfest and Psycho Las Vegas. They arrive with their first album in five years. Neverending, released May 29 through Relapse Records, was produced by Sylvia Massy and follows 2021's Your Time to Shine. Across eight tracks including "You Bastard," "Oozing Wound," "Iodine" and "Inside a Collider," Monolord retain the low-end weight and repetition at the core of their sound while opening up more space for melody and atmosphere.
Dopelord, formed in Lublin in 2010, come from a similarly riff-heavy tradition, albeit with a stronger psychedelic and occult streak. Their most recent full-length is 2023's Songs for Satan, their fifth album, while 2026 has also seen a new Season of Mist reissue of 2020's Sign of the Devil. More importantly, the band are already working on what Season of Mist describes as album number "6(66)", although no title or release date has yet been announced.
Support on this ungodly date will come from local doom metal trio Witchorious.
