Ancient is starting to earn its name, although they certainly don't sound old and decrepit... But the Norwegian black metal combo led by Aphazel has been active since 1992, making them one of the pioneers of the Scandinavian scene.
Their set was centered around their classic album Svartalvheim from 1994, beating the audience up with a blizzard of sound and fury: pummeling riffs, inhuman vocals epic, violent compositions. and an imagery that is pure 90's black metal. After a 50-minute set and a cover of their main influence Bathory, there wasn't much left of our necks and eardrums... But this was merely an appetizer.
