If you have even a passing interest in extreme metal, David Vincent needs no introduction. His mark on the genre is indelible, from World Downfall with Terrorizer to Blessed Are the Sick with Morbid Angel, both cornerstones of their respective scenes. In more recent years, he has fronted the black and death metal project VLTIMAS and even stepped outside metal entirely with a string of country releases.

The tour stops in Paris on December 19th, together with another genre-defining act, Possessed, performing Seven Churches for its 40th anniversary. We spoke with Vincent about the enduring legacy of World Downfall, his work with Morbid Angel and VLTIMAS, his love of outlaw country music, his bass playing style, and much more. He also hints at a possible new Terrorizer album, although I think mum's the word on that...
