Touring in support of his killer new album Nite Owls, JD McPherson came to Paris to preach the good word of rock ’n’ roll in all its glorious tradition. His set was a reverent take on vintage ’50s rock ’n’ roll, laced with sly nods to ’70s glam—great tunes built for drinking, dancing, and screwing. The show kicked off at full throttle and only gained momentum, mixing crowd-pleasing covers (Iggy Pop, Ritchie Valens) with songs spanning his entire catalog, from Signs and Signifiers to Nite Owls. A high-octane rock ’n’ roll revival.
