Jerry Joseph is a veteran singer-songwriter who has spent decades moving between bands and his own solo work. His latest album was produced by Drive-By Truckers’ Patterson Hood, who invited him along to open the current tour.
Joseph’s short set contains almost as much talking as music, but nobody seems to mind. He is funny, touching and completely at ease telling stories between songs, while his weathered voice and sharp writing make the songs themselves count when they arrive.
This felt more like an introduction than a support set and hopefully the next time Jerry Joseph reaches France, he gets a little more time.
