Happy Friday! This playlist focuses on concept albums and rock operas. Rock scholars have been fighting for ages to determine which record was the first rock opera. Tommy, SF Sorrow... some exegetes even put forward Sgt. Pepper...
As always, the correct answer is who cares? Who cares who came first (and yes, I believe that Who came first...) and who cares who is considered the best... All of the tunes here are fantastic. All are important. Punk, funk, soul, prog, metal... It's all in here.
Although all of the songs can stand on their own, they are better appreciated in their context. They are part of a story, so make sure that you go and listen to the full records. Of course, every teenager since 1980 has listened to The Wall and seen the movie. No rock enthusiast has not listened to Tommy, sorry for the double negative. Well, they're worth listening to again. And there are a few less famous albums represented in this playlist... go check 'em out!
