In the spirit of full disclosure, I'll start by admitting that Hip Hop isn't my favorite music genre, as you can probably tell by the content of this site. However, there were certain rap artists I did enjoy growing up and three of them are touring aspart of the Gods Of Rap package:
De La Soul, Public Enemy (albeit in a somewhat truncated format) and the Wu-Tang Clan. This is an unmissable show for fans of old school Hip Hop or anyone that's stricken with 80's and 90's nostalgia. I was lucky enough to get credentialed by LiveNation France to shoot the show, but unfortunately that meant I would only be allowed for the first three songs of each artist, so my reviews will be based solely on those songs and might not be representative of the whole show.
DJ Premier, formerly of Gang Starr, was tasked with warming up the crowd in between bands by playing Hip Hop classics. The quasi sold-out arena responded by bouncing up and down throughout each of his sets of hits from the golden age of rap. A great introduction (and interlude) for what was about to follow.
